This coastal colonial gem was one of the most charming houses I have ever seen. It is nestled in one of the prettiest streets in Miami Shores and was just lacking a little personality and cohesive design. My goal was to get the house updated from the exterior to interior, and have the house flow to its maximum potential. We updated windows and electrical plates, painted, and refinished the wood floors throughout the house. In the kitchen, we raised the floor in the Florida room and opened up the kitchen without doing any structural work.
We doubled the size of the kitchen and made it light and bright with an eat in kitchen nook. The master bath was huge with a great layout, so we updated the tile and fixtures and went with Carrara marble. The powder bath has a ton of personality. For that, we replicated the tropical vibe of the exterior of the house, kept the original wood floors and added the palm leaf wallpaper. In the junior suite, the bathroom tile was in perfect condition. To save on budget we kept original tile and updated everything else to a current design resulting in a fun and original charm.
